Petition for Victorian Residents

2.  If you are NOT a Victorian (Australia) Resident please click on the link below for the appropriate down-loadable Petition form.

Petition for NON-Victorian Residents

Note:  Victorian Parliamentary procedure prohibits petitions signed by a person living outside of the State of Vctoria from being accepted.  However, the "Non-Victorian resident" petition (refer # 2 above) will be presented to the Victorian Government if only to reveal the support the petition has Australia-wide, even though it cannot be formally taken into account.

3.  It is NOT necessary to completely fill the page with signatures (although naturally, the more signatures the better).  Even ONE signature (with name and address supplied) to the one page will help.

4.  All signatures must be hand written (ie can not be copy imaged).

5.  Signatures must be original - photocopies, digital and scanned signatures are NOT accepted into Parliament.

6.  No-one can sign on behalf of another person.  However, a petitioner incapable of signing may get someone else to sign for him or her.

7.  Each person must include his or her name, signature and address.

8.  The back of each petition sheet should be left blank (other than a continuation of signatures from the front).

9.  Please DO NOT add comment to the petition page - this may render the petition invalid.

10. When the petition is signed and completed with name and address, please post (by snail mail) to :-

"PPCollar Petition"

C/- NDTF
P.O. Box 4411
Knox City Centre VIC 3152

Thank you in anticipation of your support.

In the meantime, comments or enquiries pertaining to the topic of use of "Pressure Point Collars" and their advantages are welcomed here.

Pressure Point Collar - Petition to Govt to reinstate permitted use.

The advantages of this collar over others (including the flat collar and head-collar) is that its function is designed to work by a pinch to the skin rather than to the muscle and skeleton of the dog.  Effects to behaviour (when used properly - as ALL training and management devises should be) are generally much faster, allowing for more efficient learning and thus less stress to the dog.  The collar's design prohibts infinite pressure - agains, unlike other freely available collars such as the Head-Collar.

The Pressure Point Collar is recognised as a training tool bearing benefits to the welfare of dogs and we are therefore campaigning for the current Victorian Regulations to be changed to allow the Pressure Point Collar to be used under the supervision of qualified trainers.

To this end we ask that you download the attached Petition, fill it in, sign and return it to:

The Government will only recognise ORIGINAL signatures to petitions, consequently electronic return of your signed petition is not acceptable.  "Snail Mail" is the service of necessity here and the address given above is for these postal purposes only.

Even if there is only one signature to one page of the petition - it doesn't matter.  But of course if you know of others who also recognise the benefits of the "Pressure Point Collar" and would like to help in our joint campaign, additional signatures to the one page is even better.

Please post this blog link to your family, friends and others so they too may help make a difference!!!!

For those who would like to read more information on the campaign, please visit "Dogzonline" at THIS link and THIS  link.

Please refer to the next post (above) for important information regarding Government requirements in relation to Petitions, instructions for signing and returning the signed Petition as well as for the links to the Petition form relevant to your residency status.
